Life Right Now

Me, staring off into the abyss, in my cousins room.

This red cloth is hopefully the start of something beautiful. Im going to try and make it into a jacket.

I bought a polaroid camera on ebay recently and this is one photo I took. Im pretty sad because I misplaced about 5 pictures that I took with it and have no idea where they are right now so I cant put them on the blog yet. As soon as I find them Ill let you all know.

(Steve Madden and Marc by Marc Jacobs)
Ive rediscovered these two pairs of heels recently. Im now looking at them in a whole new light and Im not sure exactly why this change has suddenly come, but it has.

Some of my jewelery. Im going pretty crazy for the gold bracelet you see in some photos, as well as my new and completely awesome Rackk and Ruin crystal/bullet necklace. Pure love, people.

Ever since my palm reading last Saturday Ive been really into things like the healing power of crystals, birth charts, and sun/moon/rising signs. Its all pretty interesting, especially since they're usually very spot on. It makes me wonder about things like fate and love at first sight and soulmates.

My favorite song right now: (blame a boy I know for getting me addicted to The Shins again. I really cant stop listening to them.)

Vampire Weekend

This weekend was filled with:
spiritual encounters- astrology books- texting- love for these boots- lots and lots of AA runner shorts- a lovely encounter with a reader at the Barnes and Noble- the movie The Ugly Truth- being a photographer and getting behind the camera (finally)- crystals- swimming- laughing- sunbathing- giant waffles- enormous cravings for lemonade- first time intentionally having night shots, not because we ran out of daylight but because I wanted to see the effects- crying at the h+m- freaking awesome new men's sweater.

IVE GOT MORE TALONS.
If youve emailed me today, yesterday, the day before, whenever, and I havent responded or did respond saying there were none, email me again.

More info here.

American Apparel

I went to American Apparel today with my cousin in search of these mineral wash denim shorts that Ive been lusting after for quite some time now. Actually, ever since Geri at becauseimaddicted.net talked about them here.

When I finally got the shorts in my hand, the sales girl there who helped me find the perfect pair (because I wanted one with a pattern more like this than like this) asked me if I was looking for a job.....What? I thought. But Im too young! I quickly say no thank you. However, this plants a seed of conflict in my mind. I want to work. Extra pocket money, ya know? Anyway, I went online and found out I can work at my age. Now the only question is, does American Apparel allow 14 year olds to work at their store, even if its only for 3 hours? This is my soapbox.

By the way, these shorts? Yeah, the most comfortable, beautiful pair of bottoms I have ever owned. I dont think I want it in all of the colors available, I just want a million pairs of this same short in this same color so Ill never run out. Its that good. My cousin also got a pair. We're wearing them right now together, matching. :)

American Apparel runner short, MAC lipstick in Ruby Woo, cousin's evil dog named Diddy, and American Apparel alphabet tshirt turned into a tank top by me.

Individual

This outfit kind of looks like all one piece but there are actually three different pieces here. I was inspired by all the cream layering that was going on in a lot of Spring 2009 shows.

Its been so hot lately Ive barely had any time to think let alone get dressed in a somewhat decent way. Ive learned that silk is not the greatest material to help you breathe in the summer heat.

Wearing a Dries Van Noten brocade vest (its my aunts), American Apparel nude bike shorts, and two silk dresses.

Watermelon

Somehow, from a girl who hated pink, even in kindergarten, this hot neon shade has found its way into my wardrobe quite a lot lately. I have pink gladiators, bike shorts, lace dresses and now this beautiful batwing cardigan from Francesca at Babooshka.

I remember Camille's batwing cardigan from the day we went shopping together this past spring and being totally envious of the thang when I saw it, so clearly I was beyond excited when Francesca herself emailed me offering one of her pieces. Thank you so much! Check out her etsy store here.

Kissing the Lipless

I cant tell you how much I love the length of these skirts. Ive been wearing them a lot lately, they make me feel so feminine. I love the print on this one. Very summer.

Fun game! Name the band who sings my title song.

Im going to do the Q+A post. I promise. I will do it. When? Im not sure. I need to find the time.

Vintage skirt, american apparel tank top, vintage belt, vintage bag, Chloe wedges.

Africa

It was hotter than Africa yesterday/today. No lie.

This dress its the bomb. It reminds me of T by Alexander Wang except it was 1/3 the price.

Target dress, vintage bag and vintage hat.

Chanel RTW 2009

I thought this collection was freaking brilliant. Karl Lagerfeld did a freaking brilliant job. I loved the strange jade colors and big overzealous knitwear. The black in all of it, of course, was incredibly chic. The heels were beautiful. They actually look like a pair of skyscrapers I designed in my head the other day...
