Pop Of Color

A reader asked for me to wear bright colors, I guess because we are slowly transitioning from Winter to Spring and its getting later and later for it to get dark. I paused when I read that because I realized I tend to stick to the darker side of the color wheel. Although I dont think I did exactly what the commenter was asking for, I did add a little more color to the whole scheme of things. I used this pretty neon green sweater and put it over my darker pieces. I like it. I think its a "Im not out of winter yet!" sort of outfit.

Ps. Im eating Swedish Fish in the pictures, so thats what the little red thing Im holding is.

Beauty Icons

Audrey Hepburn, Judy Garland, Gene Tierney, Ava Gardner, a concert attender, Rita Hayworth and Marianne Faithfull.

Google images and This Wheel is On Fire

Im with my friend and her little brother right now. He is the most hilarious person.... ever. He totally made my day while I was trying to deal with intense personal issues. All Hail Little Brothers! Heres a few quotes of his (he's eleven people):

RE: Guy in Seventeen with shirt off, "Wait! I have to count his packs."

RE: The Elle magazine with Jessica Alba on it, "Ooo, lets look at this magazine! Elite! Its thick."

"I think that girl has no hands."

(He just watched Quantum of Solace) "Im James Bond, I have blue eyes. Hair on my chin."

"Little brother, Im french." [WTF?!]

He puts these 3D glasses on and says

"I like these glasses, they make me look fancy. They make me look mysterious, mostly when I wear them like this." [He puts them sideways on his head]

He sees the picture above of Audrey Hepburn and says,

"I smoke pot. I have a stick in my mouth."

This is my favorite. He takes some headphones, and puts the little bud thing that you put in the iPod to connect to it, on a rock (yes, a plain old rocky rock) and says

"I listen to rock."

EDIT: NEW ONE TWO!

"I wish I had a fan like that. It could blow my sister away. [Sister gasps in horror] Then! She'd come back, and say... you blew me away."

RE: This Ralph Lauren Ad 09...

"I like planes. And hats. And silver."

There is probably more that he said, but these are the few I could remember. He'll be a regular comedian when he grows up. I predict in 4 years his parents will have to disconnect the phone because so many girls will be calling him at all hours of the day.

Spring!

I bought this vest the other day with a friend. I went absolutely insane when I first saw it, but my friend basically thought I was crazy.

Me: It has three elephants on it! See! Two on the front, one on the back! Elephants are goodluck! This vest is goodluck!

Friend: Yuh-huh....

Me: Look at the sequins!

Friend:....

Me: The embroidery! Look at the detailing!

Friend: I dont know you.

P.s. Thank you all for your kind words yesterday. I was a little angry that I apparently didnt have the qualifications or whatever to quote Shakespeare. Anyone can quote Sheakespeare, anytime.

Ehem, flower porn everybody. Its the new black.

Soliloquy

Im wondering why people think they can tell me how to run my blog, especially when they say what "works" and what "doesnt work."

To the anonymous commenter that told me that quoting Shakespeare on my blog "just doesnt work" Id like to counter with the fact that Shakespeare is timeless, and are you saying that fashion and literature dont go hand in hand, even though both are categories of the arts? I am a lover of the theatre. I grew up with my family studying acting. My cousin was in a Shakespeare competition and went to state. I read his work in my spare time. Last year I starred as Hamlet in a comedic version of the play. Shakespeare is very much apart of my life as anything, in fact he contributed 200 words to the English language, and youre telling me that it just doesnt work. If this has to do with my age, Shakespeare can be read by a three year old or 90 year old, there is no age limit, except if you can understand whats been written on the page or not. This is my blog. Dont read it if you think the things I write "dont work."

Questioning

"To be or not to be, that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them. To die. To sleep. No more."
William Shakespeare

Experimentation

I was alerted to this idea of black on black by my dearest mother who told me of a woman she met who wore black tiny shorts with black tights. It sounded like a cool idea and so Ive put together this collage. Im really looking forward to experimenting with black hot shorts and black hosiery together. Must buy a pair of dark short shorts soon, otherwise I may go a bit crazy.

If You Believe In Magic

I was in the Goodwill the other day and stumbled upon these delicious velvet overalls. Of course, I thought immediately of the Chloe Fall 09, particularly the black velvet ones that I had been dreaming about only the night before. I couldnt believe my luck. Really, truthfully, it was like the style god smiled upon me and said "The Stylish Wanderer wants velvet overalls, and so she shall have velvet overalls." So what if they're navy? Its still style magic.

Secret Agent in White Crinoline

I saw Duplicity today. I loved it. I think Id be okay working as a US Operative, or in the CIA or anything having to do with running around and digging in secret files and having access to information that regular civilians couldnt even dream of. Im just saying, I wouldnt mind it. Im watching Austin Powers right now. My mom and I are doing a bit of an Austin Powers marathon. He's a secret agent too, with an awesome velvet blue suit to match.

"Wooo. That is one wacky get up you got there. Are you in the show?"
"No actually, Im english."

"Allow myself to introduce.... myself. My name is Richie Cunningham and this is my wife Oprah."

Best line(s). Ever.

Wearing a vintage white crinoline, target peachy shirt, target black tights, red Dooney + Bourke cross-body bag, and white converse shoes.

Ps I did a little interview with I Heart Fashion, check it out here.

Ruffling Your Feathers

So Im back! I can not tell you what its like to leave and come back and you have 155 emails in your inbox. Im just saying. Blogging can be insanity. Although most of them were from Steve Madden alerting me to clearance sales and what not, but seriously, I got some valid emails, most was just spam though.....XD

I saw this beautiful navy tiered dress online and knew it had to be mine. Its so gorgeous. I can imagine wearing it anywhere.

I think one of the hardest things about blogging is coming up with witty titles to match your posts. True story.

Wearing a Pixie Market tiered dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs heels, and vintage hat.

Ps Thought Id show this picture of a cork board in my room. Its currently really simplistic but a few weeks ago there was probably 100 pictures on there! Can you tell what color schemes Im working on right now? Black&WhiteBlack&WhiteBlack&White

Turquoise

For two weeks in February I interned at Chip + Pepper denim. Once there, I worked in the PR department. The head of my department, Kim, had on a gorgeous turquoise ring that was pure love at my first site of it. Through her being an inspiration, I received this beautiful turquoise bracelet from my aunt. I am not done with this particular blue green stone, but this lovely cuff will suffice. For now, I wonder if Kim ever knew that every time I looked at her ring, my heart did a little flip.

I will be gone from 3.14 - 3.20
New post no later than Sunday the 22nd
You all have a lovely week!

P.s. I hate McDonalds, but their McCafe coffee is mmn-mmm good, and just the right dose of caffeine to get an intern through a day of work!

Ah

Discovered this model on tFS. Her name is Bex. She comes from London.
She is really exotic looking, there is something really raw about her. I love her nose. I actually think I know a kid with her nose, but he's a guy. Oh well. He is rather feminine. (Hi, Hayden!)

The name's Bex... just Bex.

Wooly Mammoth

I love this wooly mammoth scarf. I dont wear it that often, but I feel so glamorous when I finally do. I dont know why, considering it could make me look prehistoric with the wrong (or right?) bottoms and shirt. There is just something about the overzealous size and unusual taupe color.

Maybe I should go cave man more often.
